Landscapes from Above

I got into drone photography after using fantasy football league winnings to buy my first drone. From my inaugural flight I was fascinated with the different perspectives of nature that I didn’t normally see from the trails.

From a truest photography perspective my current drone doesn’t take as high quality photos images as my camera, nonetheless this little, yet mighty drone has helped me capture and create some of my all-time favorite photos.

One of my favorite drone memories was crashing the drone on a shoot up in Alaska. While trying to capture that perfect shot – mind you I only had a couple of hours of flight time under my belt - I flew right into a bridge arch over a partially frozen river. Good karma was on my side that day as the drone was mere inches away from falling into the moving, icy water below, but instead crash landed safely on the bridge’s edge. Safe to say I held off on any further risky flight maneuvers for the rest of that trip.
